onedollar4darfur.com  is made up of two women in their 30's from Los Angeles. Like most people we wanted to help but the situation seems overwhelming and there are so many different organizations providing aid, which one do you choose?

Most little girls dream of meeting a Knight in Shining armor… we were lucky enough to meet 3… well 3 Knights in RUSTY armor anyway.  When we met Sir Ed, Sir Jim and Sir Walt… and learned about their legendary humanitarian efforts, we immediately wanted to get involved and help.  After working on a few ideas we realized that the best way to contribute would be to help KnightsBridge raise funds to bring much needed relief to the region of Sudan that we all know as DARFUR.

Our thought was simple…  If every single person we knew could just contribute ONE DOLLAR, and pass on the message to their friends, neighbors and co-workers… we could reach a large number of people…  that’s how Onedollar4darfur was started.  We believe that ONE dollar CAN make a difference.. , that one person CAN make a difference… Our goal is not to get involved in politics, religion or cultural affairs… WE believe that ONE dollar…ONE person…ONE message of hope…. CAN mean the difference between  life.. and death to the people of Darfur and so many other warn torn regions around the world.

What we admire so much about Knighsbridge— what sets them apart from so many other organizations, is their relentless effort to help… The Knights themselves hand deliver food, shelter and medicine to those in need…THEY never give up… no matter how hard the road ahead, how dangerous the mission, how tired they are, or how many flat tires they get… their first thought is always to help others.  To us…these Knights in Rusty Armor are TRUE modern- day super heroes…  So Thank you Sir ED, Sir Walt and Sir Jim.

Onedollar4darfur.com was created by Mariana Ferraro, a native of Argentina who works in Television Production and Hillarie Waadt, a Financial Analyst and MFA student. These two women formed this organization to raise funds to support Knightsbridge International’s Darfur IDP Relief Project by inviting everyone to help, engaging people from all over the world to join together to bring a solution to this problem.
